Classification of the Plant :

It is a flowering plant.

Roots :

The plant has fibrous roots.

Stem :

The stem is small, woody, and has many branches. When young, the stem appears green, and as it matures, it turns grayish in color.

Leaves :

The leaves are simple, oval-shaped, and slightly curved in the middle.

Flowers :

The shrub bears flowers of different colors such as saffron, pink, orange, and sometimes bluish shades. The flowers usually have three to four joined petals.

Fruits :

The plant produces spike-like fruits similar to wheat ears. Flowers bloom first, and black-colored seeds develop beneath them inside the pods. During the rainy season, the pods burst open with a cracking sound like firecrackers, scattering the seeds around. Hence, it is called the “Firecracker Flower.”
